Welcome to the Find Shippers Security Center! The Security Center is meant to be the primary source in our community for information about safety and security in the Find Shippers marketplace. Whether this is your first time using Find Shippers , or you are an experienced shipper or driver, the Find Shippers Security Center can help you protect yourself in future transactions on Find Shippers .

Find Shippers is committed to providing a safe and secure community for all of our members. We want to ensure that all of our members are aware of the safety features inherent in our marketplace model and the external solutions available in the event of a dispute.

Shipper Protection Program

Find Shippers 's Shipper Protection Program provides our shippers a loss reimbursement of up to $200.00 (less $25.00 to cover processing costs) in cases where items are picked-up and not delivered (theft). There is no additional cost to shippers for this automatic protection. For detailed information, please refer to Find Shippers 's Shipper Protection Program.
Feedback Rated Members
When you open the phone book to find a moving company, you don’t know if they are reputable or not. By rating movers through feedback, not only will you know if they have a history of taking good care of shipments, but now they have an additional incentive to handle your goods with care. Drivers can also trust that shippers will pay on time and at the agreed upon amount or be subject to the same negative feedback.

Credit Card Authorization
Find Shippers performs a credit card authorization of every shipper and driver to verify their identity before they can conduct a transaction. This means that, in the case of a dispute, we know who are the parties involved.

Third Party Protection
In the traditional world of moving and shipping, the only parties involved are you and the moving company -- your word against theirs. With Find Shippers , you now have a third party involved that knows the identity of both the shipper and driver, and the details of the shipment. In the case of fraud, we will fully cooperate with the appropriate law enforcement agencies to protect our customers.

Protecting Your Identity

Find Shippers does not release any names or contact information until a transaction is accepted by both the shipper and the driver. Your personal information is always kept safe and secure.

Hints for Safer Shipping
  1. Always ask for and write down your driver’s license plate number and drivers license number. This can be valuable information in the case of a dispute or lost goods.

  2. If the driver is a professional mover, be sure to obtain and verify the US Department of Transportation number for the company.

  3. If you are shipping a valuable item, consider purchasing optional insurance from your driver, if they offer it. Insurance is a separately negotiated item and is normally NOT included in the agreed upon shipping offer price that you transacted at through Find Shippers . If you are unsure about your insurance coverage details, always clarify this with your driver prior to pick-up. Professional movers generally provide three types of protection for your goods in case they are lost or damaged: Limited Liability, Added Valuation and Full Value.

Limited Liability: This is the basic coverage required by law of DOT licensed movers which does not cost the consumer anything. Under limited liability, the mover is responsible for sixty cents ($.60) per pound per item for an interstate move.

Added Valuation: This coverage allows you to collect the amount based on the current replacement value of the item, minus depreciation. The amount you pay for this coverage depends on how much you declare your goods are worth.

Full Value: This insurance coverage costs the most and covers the actual cost of an item's replacement or repair, without any deduction for depreciation.

If your driver does not offer insurance and you desire it, you may want to check your homeowner's insurance policy to see if it will cover your goods during a move. If your homeowner's policy does not cover your goods, call your insurance company to find out how much they would charge to insure your goods during a move. In addition, if your driver is using a rental truck, there may be optional insurance products available from the major rental companies.

  4. Never provide direct contact information on the Find Shippers Q&A system. Going around the system denies you ALL of the protections outlined in the Find Shippers Security Center.

  5. Tell your driver that you intend to leave feedback and be sure to do so after the transaction has taken place – this is the best way to ensure a safe and secure community!
